To upload your photos: You can upload photos directly by sending them to our upload email address: tsaosuphotos.upload@picasaweb.com. Photos are placed in our Drop Box folder unless you specify an existing album's name as the subject of your email. Another option is to send your photos to tsayonkur@gmail.com.

Upcoming Events:

  • MFO Concert in Washington DC
    • Dear TSA members and friends,
      We are very excited to announce you that the legendary Turkish music group MFO will perform in Washington DC on December 13th and TSA will be there! We are organizing a two-day trip to Washington, DC – Spread the word to your friends!
      Here are the event details:
      • MFO Concert and 2-day trip to DC
      • Dates: December 13th (Departure from Columbus, and MFO concert) - December 14th (Arrival)
      • Note: Car pooling and accommodation will be arranged according to number of attendees for the concert. You will hear from us more details later.
      • Price: Tickets are $40+tax, but TSA student members will enjoy the reduced group discount for $35 per person.

      Procedure:

      • Please sign up to the following spreadsheet with your relevant information no later than November 23rd, Monday and let us know if you would like to join us!
      • Make your payment via cash or check to Gulsah Ozcan, and feel free to contact her from gulsah_ozcan@hotmail.com.
      • Note that the checks should be made payable to 'Turkish Students Association.'
      • Follow up with TSA for details of accommodation and car pooling once the payments are completed. Late payments and registration will not be accepted after the deadline.



  • Kurban Bayrami Dinner
    • Dear TSA members and friends,
      This year Thanksgiving vacation coincided with the Kurban Bayrami, providing us an excellent opportunity to celebrate bayram out of our offices or labs. TSA and TAACO will be organizing a joint event for bayram. As usual, we would appreciate it if you would write your name down on the list Event details are as follows:
      • Event: Kurban Bayrami Dinner
      • Date: November 27th Friday, 6 PM
      • Place: Golden Corral (3710 W. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, Ohio) http://goldencorralcolumbus.com/
      • Menu: All you can eat buffett and soft drinks.
      • Price: $13.65 for TAACO Members, and TSA non-student members $10 for TSA student members.
      • Payment procedure: Please make your payments to our treasurer, Ilgaz Soykal in cash. You can pay before the event or at the door. For questions and concerns, feel free to contact him from ilgaz_soykal@yahoo.com.


2009-2010 Events:

  • Columbus International Festival
    • Dear TSA members and friends,
      We are excited to announce that TSA will attend Columbus International Festival this year as it has been the case for the last couple of years. This year, we will be displaying cultural goods and souvenirs from Turkey. However, this cannot be possible without our members' contribution. If you would like to volunteer to help us in this important cultural event and be present at the booth with us, feel free to sign up at the following spreadsheet spreadsheet with your available hours.

    • Date: November 7th, Saturday 10 AM - 10 PM November 8th, Sunday 11 AM - 6 PM
    • Event venue: Franklin County Veterans Memorial 300 West Broad Street, Columbus OH.

  • TSA TAACO Republic Day at State House
    • What: Celebration of Republic Day

    • When: October 30th, 2009, Friday. 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM.

    • Where: The Ohio Statehouse Atrium, Downtown Columbus

    • Dress Code: Formal

    • Menu: · Cold appetizers are served and cash bar is open during reception. · All dinners are served with a house salad, choice of two dressings, assorted dinner rolls with butter. · Two choices of meal are served: Tenderloin of Beef (Sliced beef tenderloin, roasted to medium served with wild mushroom demi glaze) or Grilled Salmon (Fresh filet of salmon,dill butter). · Dessert includes Chef¿s selection of mini desserts and petit fours.
    • Price (The deadline for reservation is October 24th, 2009 ¿ 11:30 PM):
      · TSA members (early payment via cash or check ¿ before Oct 24th): $25

  • Bayramlasma

    • Cost: $20 for TAACO members, and $15 for TSA members. .

    • Further Information: Dear TSA members,
      Thanks so much for your interest and participation in iftar dinners and other TSA events so far! As you know, Bayram is coming soon, and we would like to get together with TAACO for a brunch this Sunday. Due to large number of invitees, TAACO will confirm the reservation on Wednesday, please let us know ASAP if you are interested in attending. Deadline is September 17th, Wednesday 9:00 PM. As always, feel free to type your name, number of people coming with you, and your request for a ride if needed to here

      Dear TSA members and friends, Greetings from 2009-2010 TSA Executive Committee! You are invited to our first activity this summer, a Lahmacun party at Istanbul Cafe in Easton this weekend! This will be a short dinner party to get together with our members and friends, and introduce our new committee members as well as provide information about our upcoming and amazing activities!
